NEW YORK: The Indian Consulate in New York recently helped in organizing a meeting between Indian American community members, business interests and US officials in New England.
This was part of the Indian Consulate Community Outreach program for the New England area. The Indian delegates met Amy Hadrian of US India Business Council, US Dept. of Commerce Director James Paul, Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment (MOITI), Massachusetts Tech Collaborative, Massport’s Michelle Lampa besides community members like Kamaljit Bawa, and business representatives like Amit Kanodia and Anil Matta.
The event coordinated ably by Amit Dixit, ED – South Asian Arts Council at Boston was held on Friday March 13.
The Indian delegation was represented by Ridhika Batra of FICCI and Sumani Dash of CII, several Indian banks, Air India, Ruby Chadha of MakeMyTrip, Air India and senior Consular officials like Mohapatra, Ngaihte and Sreenivasa Rao led by Consul General Dnyaneshwar Mulay.
The Indian delegates were thereafter received by Boston Mayor Martin J. “Marty” Walsh.
This meeting was followed by a brief meeting with the Governor of Massachussetts Charles Duane “Charlie” Baker, Jr. in his office.
Participants for the visa camp organized by the Indian Consulate were mobilized by FIA represented by Ankur Vaidya and Saurin Parikh on March 13.
A community event was organized in the evening with over 200 in attendance. Among the several speakers from the Indian delegation were representatives from Indian Banks. Air India presentation made by Rishikant Singh was very well received by the audience.
