AURORA, IL: The Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) temple in Aurora, Illinois, celebrated Diwali with more than 250 devotees attending the event.
The evening began with puja and bhajans performed by resident Swami Mukundananda. He spoke on the spiritual significance of Diwali, the festival of lights which signifies the victory of good over evil.
The celebration concluded with a vegetarian dinner.
As a service to the community, the BSS is hosting classes in Nepali for children. The classes are held ever Saturday from 9 am to 11 am.
The temple has planned a fundraiser on December 9. Earlier in the day, the temple organized a free acupressure treatment by Prema Mysore.
