SILICON VALLEY & FREMONT, CA:  What began as a week-long celebration of friendship, culture and civic leadership culminated in an extraordinary showcase of Indian-American community spirit, with Americans4Hindus (A4H) and Festival of Globe (FOG) bringing together thousands of community members, civic leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, cultural organizations, volunteers and families across Silicon Valley and Fremont.

Held under the overarching theme of “Celebrating 250 Years of American Independence and 80 Years of Indian Independence Together,” the week of events from August 13 through August 18, 2026, created a unique platform where civic engagement, political empowerment, Indian culture, music, community service and celebration came together as one unified experience.

Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Romesh K. Japra, Founder & Chairman of Americans4Hindus and Festival of Globe, the two organizations collaboratively conducted a powerful series of events designed not simply as individual programs, but as one connected celebration of leadership, culture, community and the enduring relationship between the United States and India.

The week opened on Thursday, August 13, at Milpitas City Hall with the Flag Hoisting & Welcome Reception, featuring the arrival and welcome of delegates, a flag-hoisting ceremony, the official inauguration of the A4H Rajneeti Summit and West Coast Retreat, an introduction to the week’s activities, and an evening of fellowship and networking with community leaders and delegates.

A4H Rajneeti Summit: A Platform for Political Empowerment and Leadership

On Friday, August 14, the A4H Rajneeti Summit & West Coast Retreat at the Sheraton San Jose Silicon Valley became one of the most substantive components of the week.

Rather than being simply a conference, the summit emerged as a working platform for ideas, coordination and collective leadership giving A4H leaders an opportunity to deliberate together on how the organization can expand its civic and political impact while strengthening its grassroots presence.

Grand India Day Parade Press Conference Builds Global Attention

Earlier on August 14, the Grand India Day Parade Press Conference at Newark Pavilion brought together media representatives and community stakeholders for an official briefing on the parade.

The press conference helped set the stage for the massive public celebration that followed two days later.

Bhajan Clubbing Brings Devotion and Youthful Energy Together

Friday evening brought an entirely different dimension to the celebration with the Bhajan Clubbing Extravaganza at Newark Pavilion.

Combining devotional music, live bhajan performances, cultural entertainment, youth participation and fellowship, the evening created an energetic atmosphere where devotion met contemporary community celebration.

The event evolved into a high-energy devotional experience, with attendees embracing what organizers described as a vibrant devotional trance and bhajan-clubbing atmosphere. It demonstrated that traditional devotional music can connect powerfully with younger generations when presented through innovative and engaging formats.

With families and visitors moving through the fair throughout the day, the Mela provided another powerful example of how culture and community can create opportunities for connection, entrepreneurship and shared celebration.

A Grand India Day Parade That Put Fremont on the Global Cultural Map

The centerpiece of the celebration arrived on Sunday, August 16, with the Grand India Day Parade, transforming the streets of Fremont into a spectacular celebration of Indian heritage, American freedom and multicultural unity.

Across six days of programming, the celebration successfully connected seemingly different dimensions of community life from political leadership and civic engagement to cultural preservation, entrepreneurship, youth participation, devotional music, volunteerism and large-scale public celebration.

The scale of participation across the week demonstrated the remarkable strength and diversity of the Indian-American community and its ability to come together around a common vision.
