Bal Vihar in St Louis Celebrates International Yoga day

St Louis The Center of Indian Cultural Education- Bal Vihar of St. Louis joined 192 countries and over 200 million people across the world in celebrating the International Yoga day on June 21, 2015 in St. Louis MO.

The event was held at Mahatma Gandhi Center located in Manchester, MO The local community leaders, leading professional yoga instructors, Bal Vihar school yoga teachers, the school youth and many community people participated in sessions from 8 AM till noon performing 2300 Sun Salutations.

Bal Vihar of St. Louis, a premier educational institution of MO, enters into 24th year of its services to the community future generation and fosters Asian Indian cultural values in the children. Founded in 1992, this organization is preparing the future citizens, achievers of America to understand & apply Asian Indian culture, its heritage and values for the best in the community.

With recent enrollment of more than 355 students from ages 5 through 16 years, and as many as 2000 students have gone through the school over the last twenty three years. Its volunteer staff consists of professional individuals who have a keen interest in maintaining culture in their children.

The students are exposed to a wide variety of cultural and Asian religion aspects including the meditation techniques, Yoga, a method to stay healthy internally; Indian festivals etc.

Children participate in debates such as values of various cultures and their significances, their own cultural values in the modern society, and living in harmony. Our school participates in the Diversity program which involves visiting Churches, mosque, synagogue, Gurudwara, ISKON temple and more.
