CHICAGO: Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz Khan will also be performing along with Bappi Lahiri at the FIA hosted Indian Independence Day Festival at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg on August 16th.

Sarfaraz has acted in or produced several movies, serials, plays, and shows that include TBazaar, Vaada, Wanted, Kissan, Taash Ke Patte, Saubhagyawat, Best of Luck, etc.

“I am exceedingly happy that a decade ago my father attended the Independence Day festivity, and this year, I will have the honor to represent Mother India in Chicago,” said Sarfaraz Khan, who has a contract for acting in a Hollywood comedy movie I Can…Mess It Up.

Expressing his happiness, Sunil Shah, FIA Founder President said “We are getting overwhelming response from the community.” Not only Bappi and his troupe members will perform, but several local prominent local artists are also lined up for presentation, said Payal Shah, FIA Vice President and coordinator of the cultural program.

For kids, special rides and several fun activities have also been arranged, said Manjeet Singh, coordinator of the rides. Ample parking space too, said Ninad Daftari, who will be interacting with visitors.

Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti will lead the lineup of dozens of confirmed elected officials on August 16. “This is the best show in town, don’t go anywhere; come to Schaumburg,” said Mukesh Shah
FIA is charging a nominal $8 for ticket. Part of the proceeds will go to Nepal Relief Fund and a scholarship foundation.
