Blood Donation Drive and Manav Ekta Diwas Samagam held at SNM Tracy Oneness Center

Manav Ekta Diwas

Prafull Lande

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Manav Ekta Diwas (Human Unity Day) Samagam and Blood Donation Drive were organized at the San Francisco Branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission in the loving remembrance of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj whose life continues to  inspire selfless service and human unity across the globe.

While working with the American Red Cross in a successful blood donation drive, 66  individuals registered for the blood donation drive and donated 56 units of blood. This remarkable contribution reflects the strong commitment of the community toward  saving lives. The event witnessed active participation from volunteers and donors,  promoting unity, love, and selfless service. Beyond addressing a critical medical need,  the drive strengthened the bond of humanity and highlighted the true spirit of giving.

The Satsang began with devotional bhajans and kavitas related to Manav Ekta Diwas, a  day where saints paid tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh, his spiritual journey, and his  precious teachings.

Dr. Sumeet Sandhu presented a speech, highlighting the teachings of unity and  equality. She emphasized that“ blood should flow in veins not in drains“, where she  delved into how donating blood is a selfless act where we can immediately give back to  those in need. When receiving this life-saving treatment, there are no questions about  manmade barriers such as caste or creed; everyone is seen as an equal.

Romi Basra Ji then reflected on how he first met Baba Gurbachan Singh in 1971, when  he was a child being raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He remembered how, even while  being the Satguru of the Nirankari Mission, Baba Gurbachan Singh had an incredibly  humble demeanor and would meet every saint with love and kindness. He concluded by  emphasizing the importance of living in the truth of Brahm Gyan, where our actions are  consistent with Satguru’s teachings of compassion and tolerance.

On the same note, Dr.Bhavna Singh focused on the concept of Manav Ekta by looking  at the true meaning of human unity. Once we realize that we are spiritual beings having  a human experience, then we can become detached from our ego. As this process  begins to happen, we all realize that we are all children of the same Almighty Nirankar (Formless God). Baba Gurbachan Singh would also emphasize that with Nirankar’s blessings and with Gyan, we wish for everyone’s happiness  because no one is a stranger. This is when human unity is no longer just a phrase, but  instead becomes a plan in action.

Following this, Youth Sangat members, Ranveer Ji and Elahi Ji delivered a  thorough presentation regarding Baba Gurbachan Singh’s spiritual journey in the  Nirankari Mission and his everlasting teachings of equality.

This satsang was presided by Rev. Ram Sai Ji of Atlanta, who reinforced the message that  humanity is one above and beyond all differences.  In his discourse, Rev. Ram Sai Ji emphasized how we have the privilege of having a day  specifically for Manav Ekta, where we pay tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh by taking  the time to reflect on his teachings and life journey. He went on to explain how we have  the blissful opportunity of coming to Satsang, a holy congregation where Saints can  come to discuss the presence of Nirankar and to understand the practical application of  God knowledge. He concluded by saying that if we look at the education of a doctor or  an engineer, they first learn the basics of their field and graduate school, and then apply  those teachings throughout their career. In the same way, he said, our Satguru is asking  us to obtain this precious Brahm Gyan (God Knowledge), and then to apply it on a daily basis in our lives.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, a Sewadal Camp was also held where approximately 100 Sewadal  members participated in several interactive team-building exercises.

In conclusion, with Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj’s blessings, the San Francisco  Branch of SNM enjoyed three blissful days with the arrival of Rev Ram Sai Ji, who presided over  the Sewadal Camp and delivered a divine vichar on Manav Ekta Diwas Samagam.

The Sant Nirankari Mission started spreading the message of Love and Brotherhood across the world with the efforts and vision of Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji. This vision was taken forward by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, along with Nirankari Rajmata Ji, with branches of the Mission being set up in the UK, US, Canada, Middle East, Australia and other parts of the world. The baton of Truth was taken ahead with even more momentum by Baba Hardev Singh Ji and Mata Savinder Ji, who embraced the world with their compassion and care. The Mission spread to more than 3000 branches in India and many hundreds in over 70 countries across the world.

Many social initiatives have been taken in the last many decades in these centres including Blood Donation Camps, Food Drives, Social Awareness Programs, Cleanliness Drives, Tree Plantation Drives, Help and Support during Natural Calamities etc. These contributions have been acknowledged and honoured with numerous awards and recognitions over the years. The Mission has also been granted the general consultative status by the United Nations Organization.
