FREMONT: Fremont Hindu Temple and Federation of Indo-Americans (FIA) of Northern California organized candle light vigil on April 30 to show support and sympathy for Nepal earthquake victims. Shocked by the misery of the Nepalese, Bay area community poured in with their open hearts and showed up in huge numbers.

Many local politicians and Nepali leaders attended the event to show their support. FIA has launched a Nepal Earthquake Relief fund to raise funds for aid to Nepal.

Dr Romesh Japra, Convener and President of FIA, said “In time of critical need of Nepal, we all stand united and will do a widespread fund raising. Our short term objective will be to help provide medicines and medical aid. In the long term, we will aim to set up medical clinics and partner with credible NGOs”.
