CHICAGO: The General Meeting of the Indian Seniors of Chicago was held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Manav Seva Mandir with about 250 members in attendance. The entire program was managed by Navin Patel, member of the Executive Committee.
Bhupendra Suthar, Geeta Suthar, Panna Shah and NayanabenDarji sangGaneshaStuti and Sarva Dharma Prarthana. All the members recited Hanuman Chalisa. .Chittaranjan Desai presented the income-expenditure account for the month of November and announced the names of individuals and organizations who had donated to the organization.
Pravinbhai Seth spoke at length about Gita Jayanti. Gita is a precious universal text of philosophy and it is the Bible of humanity. Gita is the book of life..IT gives guidance and solace to all common man. . ‘Paritranayasadhunam, Vinasachaya cha dushkrutam, dharmasansthapanayasambhavamiyugeyuge’.
Gita explains Rajvidya and Aadhyatma Vidya. It also explains the relationship between Universe and Divine power. God is truth and the world is transitory. One can find solution to all problems of life from Gita. The Gita shows the way to live a temperate and progressive life.Jayashriben Seth sang a beautiful song about Swadhyaya.
Bhupendra Suthar requested the members whose birthday falls in the month of December to come forward. The chief guest Dr. Narsinhbhai Patel gave Birthday Greeting cards to members on. All members sang ‘Happy Birthday to you’. Group photographs were taken on this occasion.
The entertainment program by the members was started by Navin Patel. He announced the names of the participating members one by one. Hemaben Rana sang a bhajan on ‘Kailash KeNivasi’, Arvind Modi sang ‘Mara Bhola Dil No’, Geeta Desai sang a Gujarati song with her husband Ashwin Desai, Deepesh Modi sang ‘MeraPyarBhi Tu Hai’ from the movie Sanam, Mrs. N.Shah sang ‘Teri Panah Me HameRakhna’ from the movie ‘Panah’ in a beautiful voice.
Jayantibhai Ojha sang the song ‘Wadia Tera Daman Raste’ from the movie Abhilash, Rohini Dekhtawala sang the Sujata movie song ‘Jalte Hai Jiske Liye’, Hirabhai Patel sang ‘Baharo Phool Barsavo’ from Soorajmovie, and the last singer Bhadraben Shah sang a song in her melodious voice. At the end, thanks were given to all participants who participated in the entertainment program.
The musical group members who presented annual program of the Indian Seniors of Chicago were appreciated by the members by presenting them with certificate of excellence and a gift amount. On request by members Mihir Acharya sang many movie songs and entertained members.
Members were requested to participate in various national hero look alike dress up and the program of flag salutation and march past on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
At the end, after reciting a verse, everyone took a delicious meal.
