Chicago Indian Seniors celebrates Lord Krishna birthday

CHICAGO: Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrated Lala’s birthday with the tune of ‘Nand Gher Anand Bhayo, Jai KanaiyaLalki’.

Lord Krishna’s birthday was celebrated by more than 900 members of the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago on Friday August 19, at the hall of the Rana Regan Community Center in Carol Stream, a Chicago suburb.

Festival of Krishna Janam was celebrated from 8 pm to 12 pm, and the BSC Vice President presented himself as a Vasudev while his wife ShardabenPaghdal played the role of Devki. They entered Lord Krishna’s child form “Lala” in a basket and gave darshan to the people. Also, senior members’ grad kids dressed in colorful costumes of cowherds and gopis were seen having fun wearing colorful pink sofas enjoying the Nanda festival, singing, and dancing. The members of BSC gathered together and visited the carousel. In the middle of this event, Haribhai and Nimish Jani appealed to members to identify themselves as candidates standing for election this year in IL State.

On this occasion, singers from India, Vinodbhai Patel, Kosha Pandya and Sweta Kothari won the hearts of everyone with the Dandiya Raas, Garba, sang Nand Mahotsav songs. On this occasion, a delicious meal is held before the event starts, such as milk halwa, sabudana khichdi, Rajgara floor Thepla, Suki bhaji, Moraiya khichdi, curry, butter, Misri, and Faralichevdo and penda prasad were given on the way home.  BSC President Haribhai Patel, BSC Managing Trustee Parasottam Pandya thanked the sponsors and executive members of BSC.
