Consulate General of India, San Francisco hosts Community Reception Honoring Ambassador Namgya Khampa

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: The Consulate General of India in San Francisco (CGISF) warmly hosted a special Community Reception in honor of Ambassador Namgya Khampa, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, Washington, D.C on Dec 4 at CGISF office. The event brought together leaders of the Indian diaspora, community organizations, business executives, and cultural representatives from across Northern California.

The reception celebrated Ambassador Khampa’s continued efforts to strengthen India–U.S. relations and her deep engagement with the Indian-American community.

In her address, Ambassador Khampa highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations across technology, education, innovation, clean energy, and people-to-people exchanges. She emphasized the indispensable role of the diaspora in elevating bilateral ties and contributing to India’s global presence.

Consul General Dr. K. Srikar Reddy welcomed the Ambassador and community members, expressing appreciation for the diaspora’s sustained contributions to civic leadership, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and cultural preservation in the United States.

He noted that Ambassador Khampa’s visit further reinforces the Consulate’s commitment to collaboration, service, and community outreach. California is home to one of the largest Indo-American populations in the United States. With deep roots in technology, healthcare, small business, academia, and entrepreneurship, Indo-Americans have become a cornerstone of the state’s innovation ecosystem.
