here in IT sector, specially in Bay Area of California, the game is quite popular. In fact, Cupertino is a place for a well established cricket academy since long and it is recognized by ICC. This was possible by the untiring and steadfast efforts of Hemant and Kinjal Buch, founders of California Cricket Academy based at Cupertino since 15 years.

The trophy came here with its representatives for public display on 2nd September Sunday between 3 to 4pm. It was a public function and there was a large gathering of cricket loving crowds including past present Mayors of Cupertino, Ms. Sandra James and Mr. Darcy Paul, Mahesh Nihalani, CCA advisory Board member, other members of academy & officials of ICC. Hemant Buch welcomed the trophy & officials; ICC officials gave information about the event & functioning of ICC regarding trophy and the Mayors assured about giving all possible cooperation from local council for promoting the game in this region.

The public was thrilled to see actual trophy here and had the pleasing experience of getting photographed with it. They were thrilled to read the name of India inscribed twice on trophy – 1983 and 2011 as winners, when Kapil Dev and M.S. Dhoni were captains. It was indeed a memorable function for those who attended.
