Designers with Midas touch

IMG_1983At a recent Dastkar Bazaar (Winter Weaves) held at Andheria Mor in Delhi, most fashion conscious women flocked to one particular booth which had amazing designer wear made from special wool from Leh. You cannot miss two young designers – Padma Seldon and Aastha Vashishth – busy explaining to their customers about the fabric and wool. All of their products were sold out in just few days.

The two young designers are 2011 batch NIFT Bengaluru graduates. After working with few leading design firms they decided to launch their own brand. Padma being from Ladakh found her inspiration in what she grew up with. They knew there were many traditional designs and fabrics available in the market but everybody was doing that. They wanted to experiment with something new. They embarked on several experiments of contemporary designs with wool from lamb and sheep. Their combined efforts finally resulted in some amazing design elements – keeping traditional patterns integrated with cotton fabrics.

Armed with this success they are now looking for a place in the heart of Delhi for a retail show room of their own.
