Entertainers to bring cheer to kids during FIA Parade

CHICAGO: To make the India Independence Day parade a grand affair, FIA is deploying clowns, jugglers, tall-stiletto walkers and other entertainers colorfully dressed to criss-cross the parade route in order to provide added fillip and excitement to the grand parade.

Iftekhar Shareef, FIA Trustee Chair, providing this update said it was important that we offer to the children some gleeful excitement and the best way we can do it is to employ entertainers who can bring lot of cheer to the young children.

He added this side show with clowns and jugglers will provide a wholesome family entertainment on a day filled with patriotism and Indian pride.

Banquet Chair Veenod Patel said they were working hard to make the August 16 Independence Day Banquet at India House in Schaumburg a very successful event. He said Bollywood Actress Soha Ali Khan will make special appearance. Program will be filled with cultural programs co-ordinate by Bhavana Modi.

Awards will be presented to four selected community/business leaders recommended by Trustees of FIA. Banquet will be attended by over 800 people along with guests from India including Union Minister of Transportation Sarve Sathyanarayana, the new Consul General of India, Dr Ausaf Sayeed. Other VIP guests will be Mr World, Mr India and many more.

Minhah Akhtar, Treasurer of FIA-Chicago, said Flag Hoisting ceremony will be held on August 15 at 11.55 am in front of Daley Plaza (Dearborn & Washington Ave) Downtown. It will be followed by cultural program. Refreshments will be served at the event he said.
