Often considered family-friendly, a combination of Las Vegas style shows and Orlando kind of rides, Branson, Missouri is the place to be this season. This year for summer fun, we chose Branson, Missouri for our family vacation of Independence Day.

About 8 hrs south-east driving from Chicago land, passing through Abraham Lincoln’s National Museum at Springfield, IL and monumental Arch of Saint Louis, scenic hilly views of Branson, welcome you for a best family vacation. This time it was easy for us to make an itinerary for our vacation, using an interactive tool provided on Branson’s official website.

Branson/ Lakes area Chamber of Commerce and convention and Visitors bureau have developed a very informative website www.ExploreBranson.com for visitors. This unique website provides a very useful tool for visitors to create their own itinerary on top of the necessary details of attractions, event calendar, lodging, etc.

Whether it’s the beautiful hilly view, or the many attractions, Branson has something for everyone. We enjoyed whole day at Silver Dollar City. They are celebrating 50 years of fun. Every child will have the time of his life at the world-famous theme park, Silver Dollar City. In the evening we enjoyed Branson Belle showboat and dinner. Uniquely designed, this dinner boat offers very high-energy live musical show and talking dog show with three course dinner, journey past lush Ozark Mountains on the crystal clear waters of Table Rock Lake during your two-hour lake cruise.

If the day gets a bit too warm, the whole family is able to enjoy a pleasurable and thrilling soak at the White Water Lagoon. One day we went for adventurous ride in jungle setup to experience zipping at 50 mph at Branson Zipline and Canopy tour – a brand new attraction for visitors soaring through the trees over multiple zip lines and skywalks on a breathtaking tour of the Ozark Mountains. It was even more fun than it sounds.

As night falls, the family will sure be tired, and they’d appreciate nothing more than to sit back and enjoy some of Branson’s finest stage entertainment. For the musically inclined, the Branson Variety theatre has shows that you’ll never have seen before!
We enjoyed Broadway show and “Spirit of the Dance” – Irish in origin and bursting with raw energy – this explosive and powerful show combines show stopping Irish dance with the passionate Latino rhythms of Tango, Flamenco and Red-Hot Salsa in a thrilling production of strength and passion.

And your little gymnast will be blown away after she sees the performances of the Acrobats of China. Chun Yi – The legend of Kung Fu is a powerful tale of personal growth and the realization of physical and emotional harmony. And before the little guy can complain, every boy in the audience will be wowed by the daring antics of the Legend of Kung Fu. No matter what your needs, Branson has everything your family could desire, and then some.

Among other stage performances attractions, watch Noah and his family build an enormous Ark and fill it with animals, two by two! Featuring a 300-foot wraparound stage, hundreds of live and animatronics animals and a 40-foot-high ark, Noah – the Musical brings the Bible to life on stage in an experience you’ll never forget! A magical production packed full of astonishing disappearing acts, huge illusions and exotic animals of world class magician Kirby Van Burch was amazing.

Apart from theme parks and shows, you also have many choices of shopping, visiting winery, museums, music bars, scenic railway and local events. With many varieties of restaurants for dining, you can also enjoy Luigi’s pizza, Vasken’s Deli for falafel and Andy’s frozen custard.

Whether it is an affordable romantic gateway for Valentine Day or golfing, dining and nice spring break during Ozark Mountain Spring festival, or for summer family fun like go-karts, high-tech magical illusions, variety of high-energy live musical shows, wakeboarding, water skiing, jet skiing, parasailing, or bird-watching, hiking, biking, boating in fall for the Ozarks or spectacular lighting and shows in Christmas, this vacation place is very enjoyable in all five seasons of the year.
