Focus on youth at Rajasthani Diwali

CHICAGO: The Association of Rajasthanis in America (ARA), Chicago chapter, recently celebrated its annual Diwali function at Holiday Inn, Rolling Meadows with a strong focus on youth participation. The show was attended by over 300 guests with many new faces.

The show was organized in a unique way this year as most of the presentations were from children. The show opened with a Prathana for Ganesh Ji by three girls followed by a magic show. Next was Ramlila as told by six children ranging in ages four to nine. There was a Bollywood dance performed by Meenal Sharma and a Rajasthani dance performed by the ARA President Ram Saini and his wife, Suman Saini. There was also a game for the guests.

Ram Saini reflected on his past five years as President before handing over the torch to Sunita Sarup as the new president.
