FREMONT, CA: Festival of Globe (FOG) Diwali – Festival of Lights was celebrated at the sprawling Washington High School grounds on Saturday, October 18th, 2025. Diwali is one of the most pious and joyous festivals celebrated across India and the world.
Dr. Romesh Japra, FOG Founder, said, “Diwali represents victory of Good over Evil, and this message is all the more relevant in today’s society for all of us to live in harmony and thrive. FOG strives to bring community together and give them a platform to celebrate our Hindu values, culture and heritage. FOG’s mission aligns with the key message of Diwali, which I to build a safe, happy and prosperous community”.
This year’s FOG Diwali festival consisted of many exciting segments that attracted and enthralled Festival visitors. Hundreds of booths enabled visitors to shop for Diwali. A beautifully choreographed all women cast Ram Leela was highlight of the event. Hundreds of dancers with ages ranging from 3 years adult participated in dance competitions. Beautiful Laser Dandiya and Laser show extended the event into evening hours where viewers had the evening treat to their eyes.
A beautiful Ramayana Parade was led by several Ramayana characters singing bhajans and attracted large audience.
FOG President Rajesh Verma said, “Bringing together communities and providing exciting activities is a huge operational effort. It is only possible because of hundreds of volunteers that support the event.”
FOG Diwali Festival is the largest and most recognized event and attracted several local and state elected officials. Mayor Raj Salwan, Assembly member Alex Lee and several council members conveyed their Diwali wishes. New York assembly member Jennifer Rajkumar especially attended the event to greet the community.
