Gujarati Samaj of Chicago organizes annual picnic

Chicago: The Gujarati Samaj of Chicago (GSC) organized its annual picnic at Ned Brown Preserve (Busse Wood) in Elk Grove Village a northside suburb of Chicago.

More than 400 members, guests and families enjoyed the picnic Kids and seniors also participated in a big way. The weather was excellent and this boosted the joy and pleasure of the picnic. GSC president Dhitu Bhagwakar welcomed those attending this much-awaited annual event.GUJ SENIPPRS

Lunch included dalwada, methi gota, red and green chutney, tea, save ushal, pasta, chips and salsa, nacho cheese. The

People participated in games like lembu chamcha, kothra dud, volleyball, tug-of-war and water ballooning.

GSC secretary Bhavesh Shah, past president Suryakant Patel, and Manish Pandya, helped play Bingo among all, including a good number of seniors . After that the GSC committee members distributed prizes to the winners.

However, by the time of dinner, there was rain, wind and thunderstorm which tarnished what was otherwise a good.

The board members, headed by Bhagwakar, thanked everyone for their participation.
