‘Gujjubhai’ comedy earns an encore

CHICAGO: A family friendly Gujarati comedy “Gujjubhai Ni Golmaal” staged on Friday, February 22 at Jain Center auditorium in Bartlett, turned out to be a big hit with the viewers. There was a chorus of demands for its re-staging at an appropriate date in the near future.

Sensing a huge response, Manpasand and Suga Builders, the organizers, announced hosting the drama one more time at the same venue this month in league with Gujarati Divya Bhaskar and widely read India Post newspapers. Bhavana Modi of Manapasand pointed out that one of the inducing factors was to help Seniors in Chicagoland.

Despite inclement weather, the show attracted 600 plus drama lovers from across Chicago and the auditorium was overflowing with enthusiastic audience.

The play penned by Pravin Solanki and directed by Siddharth Randeria had a talented cast including Siddharth Randeria, Tejas Vyas, Kiran Malvanker, Chitrak Shah, Jyuthika Shah, Ketan Joshi, Sameer Uurav, Jay Pandya and Rohinton Chesan.

The drama was a roller coaster ride of laughter with the theme based on a Gujjubhai’s journey to get rich quick. His motto is Paiso Maro Parmeshwar (Money is My God). He tries every trick to amass money and finds himself getting trapped by it.
