CHICAGO: Global Gayatri Pariwar Chicago and Gayatri Shaktipeeth Chicago celebrated Guru Purnima festival with 108 Kundi Gayatri Yagya on Sunday July 21 from 11am to 2 pm in Desplaines, a north side suburb of Chicago.
Chief Guest Mrs Santosh Kumar, CEO of MAFS, inaugurated Gyan Mashal souvenir book. She spoke about Gurudev Pandit Shree Ram Sharma’s divine work and teaching that everyone should read his literature to solve day-to-day problems.
Main Yajman were Chetanbhai and Manishben Patel and Varshaben and Shaileshbhai Gadani. In Pushpanjali ritual, Natubhai Patel announced quitting his Pan Parag habit. Minaben Poorohit and Sohanbhai Joshi appealed to devotees not only to participate in this program but regularly help the Gayatri Shaktipeeth Chicago for day-to-day expenses.
Pushpaben Parikh and Bhamini Acharya sang melodious songs along with Kusum Patel, Harsha Thakkar and Bhanu Darji. During the pious event, the organizers distributed 108 Tulsi plants. More than 300 devotees offered Aahuti in Gayatri Yagya. Aabh Contractor chanted Gayatri Mantra on stage.
Kusum Patel and Rajnibhai Modi performed Gaytari Yagya and devotees chanted Gayatri Mantra, Mahamurtunjay Aahuti was offered for the departed souls at Utttarakhand and also for Mrs Pearl Cooper, 84, an ardent devotee of Gayatri Mata and selfless worker. She passed away on June 21.
