Hasan Chishti gets one more recognition

CHICAGO: Community activist Hasan Chishti was once again honored with the Community Service Award in Chicago on September 16 and this time it was from the organizers of the United Cricket Tournament.
The event took place at North Shore Banquet hall on Devon Avenue. President Adil Azeem Khan praised Hasan Chisti’s achievements while presenting the award.

This award to Hasan Chishti was in continuation of many recognitions and honors that he has received for his writings, excellence in community service and uplifting human values.

In Chicago, as general secretary of Indian Non-Residents Association, as the General Secretary of Bazm-e-Urdu, a literary organization, Bazm-e-Deccan, a cultural organization and as the founding president of Urdu Journalists Association of America, he has done yeomen service to society.

Born in Hyderabad, India, he obtained a BA. degree from the Osmania University and served the same university in various administrative capacities, for about 26 years. After his retirement in 1978, he was associated with King Abdul Aziz University for one year after which he held an executive post in a Saudi-owned company for about six years. In 1986 he migrated to Chicago and worked for sometime before starting his own business in 1991, with his sons, Javeed and Wajid, both computer engineers. He has been happily married to Zeenath Hasan for 55 years.
