Hundreds Attend Devon gurdwara Baisakhi celebrations

CHICAGO: Baisakhi Samagam 2019 was celebrated at Devon Gurdwara Sahib from April 12 to 14 with a lot of enthusiasm, religious fervor and devotion. The energetic celebrations also included Chardikala with the cooperation, contribution and assistance from the whole Sadh Sangat. Langar was served on all three days.

Baisakhi festival is a Celebration of Khalsa Panth formation and is also known as Khalsa Sajna Divas. Khalsa is who identifies with the creator and practises divinity in daily life. The festival is celebrated on Baisakhi day (typically 14 April), since 1699.

The three-day program was very inspiring as hundreds of devotees listened to the three eminent speakers espousing the true meanings of Sikhism. Bhai Teerath Singh. Bhai Trilok Singh and Bhai. Bachan Singh did seva for three days connecting the congregation to the true meaning of Sikhism. They sang amazing hymns from Guru Granth Sahib and also did katha about how Sikhism’s 10th Guru set up the Khalsa.
