IM operative deported from Sharjah

Mujahideen operative was tonight deported from SharjahNEW DELHI: An alleged Indian Mujahideen operative was tonight deported from Sharjah for his alleged involvement in providing logistical support to the banned terror outfit, officials said.

The operative, Faizan, a resident of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh was placed under arrest by NIA, they said.

He is alleged to have fled from India four years back to Nepal where he was provided a Pakistani passport by his ISI handler.

He later went to Pakistan via Dubai to undergo arms training.

Faizan, believed to be in his early thirties, was camping in Gulf countries and is alleged to have been choosing potential recruits for the banned outfit besides raising money.

The operation was executed by external intelligence agency in cooperation with their counterparts in the Gulf countries.–PTI
