NEW YORK: Indian Americans of New York recently lauded the community service of Frank Seddio at a ceremony in New York City. Samir Chopra President- Elect said ” Frank is a wonderful community servant who has worked diligently for the betterment of society having served the people of State of NY, the courts and the New York State Assembly. He is a wonderful friend of Indian Americans and we look forward to a continuing partnership”
As a Judge he has presided over the estates of more than 3 million New Yorkers and he was responsible for making a myriad of changes in the policies and procedures in the Court to better adapt it to the needs of modern society. Frank served in the New York State Assembly where he drafted and passed legislation in regard to healthcare, transportation, real estate, employment and labor. He currently serves as Chairman of the Kings County Democratic Party – the largest county party in the United States responsible for six Congressional Districts; 7 Senate seats and 20 Assembly seats, representing over 900,000 registered constituents in the city of New York.
Samir Chopra, a marathon runner and triathlete and past recipient of the International Walter Upjohn Award has been honored by the United States Senate, NYS Governor and the United States Congress. He has served as Director of the South Asian Bar Association and as Trustee of the Hindu Center. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Indian American Committee and Lota Nu Delta Brotherhood Inc. He completed his education at Emory University, INSEAD (France) and Harvard.
