JAIPUR: An Indian origin US citizen on way from New York to Jaipur via Abu Dhabi was detained here for illegally carrying white stones of zirconium worth Rs 33 lakh, gold worth Rs 7 lakh and Rs one lakh in cash in Etihad flight, a senior customs official said.
The passenger had concealed the items in his baggage which was detected by custom department sleuths after he landed at International Airport here, Deputy Commissioner, Customs (Airport) Honhar Singh said.
The 40-year-old air traveler is associated with a business house here, he added.–PTI
