Janyaa makes kids creative problem solvers

FREMONT: Janyaa Supporters Appreciation Event was held at Dosa N Biryani on February 2 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. Janyaa’s vision is to change the lives of under-privileged rural children in India. This outstanding program ingrains math and science concepts by using ‘learn-by-doing’ techniques.

Janyaa provides educational kits like experiments and games to the schools and trains the teachers on the use of these kits. The result of this program is that the kids are creative problem solvers and innovative designers who can lead lives very different than their parents.

The program was started in 2009 by Venu Nadella and her team at four schools and has grown exponentially to 25,000 students in 270 schools across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. The event was organized to thank the supporters, media partners, volunteers, sponsors who have helped in the noble cause and made the program a grand success.

Guests of Honor included Mr N. Parthasarathi, Consul General of India, Mrs Geetha Parthasarathi and Anu Natarajan, Vice Mayor of Fremont. The guest spoke on need for creative education in rural India to empower the future generations. This will pave way for better and powerful India, he said.

Venu Nadella thanked the volunteers and supporters and hoped that Janyaa grows manifold in years to come. As a token of appreciation, certificates were awarded to sponsors, media partners and volunteers.
