CHICAGO: The Consulate General of India in Chicago celebrates Kala-Utsav annual with a view to promoting Indian culture and dance in the mid-west area.
Kala-Utsav weaves tapestry of the vibrant cultural groups that Midwest’s India migrants offer. It offers a stage for Indian community’s cultural entities to display their performing best. It brings to fore top-class performances by Indian community in the US Midwest.
The Chicago Indian Consulate in collaboration with the participating organizations has slated celebration of “Kala -Utsav 2015” on 1st November at the Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave, Chicago starting 5 m till 9 pm
More than 25 reputed Cultural Academies/Organizations/ Dance Troupes from Midwest will perform and show their talent
The categories include Indian Dance (Classical, Folk, Bollywood & Modern, Indian music (Classical, Sufi & Light) & Indian Theatre Forms (Folk & Modern). Kala-Utsav encompasses such organizations from across the nine Midwest States of the US (Illinois, Indiana, IOWA, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin).
The registration and Entrée for the event is free for all nationals loving Indian Dance, Music & Culture.
