CHICAGO: Attended by over 200 prominent community members and Metropolitan Asian Family Services staff, the New Year’s Eve soiree of MAFS blended in style with scrumptious delicacies, and good music, at MAFS Chicago location on December 28.
The celebration started with social hour and was followed by cultural program and performances. Welcoming the attendees, Ms. Santosh Kumar, Executive Director, thanked her board members for joining MAFS family on this joyous occasion. She also thanked her staff members and wished everyone a prosperous New Year. She updated her staff with new changes that Obama government is bringing in like ADS and CCP programs and spoke on new plans and ventures that she is targeting for 2013.
Ms. Nalini Goyal, MAFS board member in a message acclaimed Ms. Kumar for contributing her creative artistry towards numerous organizations and causes. Beena Patel, MAFS Board member wished everyone a very peaceful and delightful New Year. She also commended Mrs. Kumar for dedicating her life for the welfare and happiness of the deprived people in India and in the United States.
Other MAFS board members who spoke and wished everyone with good health, success and prosperities were Naren Patel and Rakesh Asthana.
Earlier the celebration started with a music program which was presented by MAFS staff members. Surendra Shah, ADS Program coordinator entertained everyone with Bollywood classical numbers such as Apna dil to awara na jane kis pe aayega, and other hits.
Sudaksha Kapoor enthralled everyone with her inspiring poetry and quotes. Pramod Kumar, MAFS CFO surprised everyone with his captivating performance. He took the attendees by storm with his very famous song wafa jin se ki bewafa ho gaye. Mrs. Kumar also enthralled everyone by singing a soulful classical number.
MAFS staff and board members enjoyed delicious dinner prepared by MAFS dedicated kitchen staff.
