NEW DELHI: “Mehernama” a play, directed by Aamir Raja Husain and his wife Virat Husain was presented at Durbar hall, Taj Palace hotel, recently. The play captured the administrative set up, palace intrigues, the love story of Prince Salim who later became Emperor Jehangir and Mehrunnisa who became Noor Jahan in an amazing presentation.
It is the story of legendary empress Noor Jahan and of the fabulous emperors Jahangir, covering three generations from Mughal-E -Azam Akbar to Shah Jahan. It is a story of war and peace, rebellion and reconciliation, power and politics, but above all it is an epic of love undying, infinite love, a romance that transcends generations, surpasses diversity, to become the world’s most inspiring story of love.
