CHICAGO: A memorandum co-signed by 31 Chicago US Midwest organizations, led by Sikh Religious Society, Palatine in Illinois, was sent to PM Modi ji through the offices of Indian Consul General Amit Kumar in Chicago last week

A delegation from Sikh Religious Society Palatine IL including its president Irwinpreet Singh and past president Dr. Pardeep Singh Gill met with the CG on Dec. 3 to express solidarity with the Indian farmers and urge him to advise the Indian Government to repeal the Farmers Act 2020 laws immediately because those are unfair to the farmers of India.

If according to the government these laws are so good for the farmers, then why are millions of farmers from all the states of India are protesting against it? The Police brutality of stopping a peaceful protest with cold water cannons, tear gas, beatings with batons, digging up highways to harass the protesters was also mentioned in the memorandum.

The Indian Consul General Amit Kumar is learnt top have given   a patient hearing to the views of the delegation and detailed the Indian government position on this issue as a backgrounder
