He was also Founding Member of the Campaign Management Support team of Narendra Modi during Lok Sabha 2014 which conceived and executed a number of high profile projects across India which created Guinness Records for the scale and audacity of conception and execution unprecedented in the history of world democracy. He is also a technology entrepreneur and has co-founded multiple cutting edge technology ventures across multi sectors including healthcare, biotech and Social Commerce. In the following interview he shares his views about PM Modi’s visit to Silicon Valley:

Are you excited about Modi ji coming to the Silicon Valley?
Siddharth Bhavsar: I am very excited about Modi ji’s visit. After independence it’s only the 3rd time that India’s prime minister is visiting the bay area. He is the most popular Indian prime minister since independence and a great orator. The entire indo American community in Bay area is excited to listen to him. That’s why a large number of communities have come together to organize a grand reception for him. The event has been oversubscribed by more than 3 times the capacity within 5 days of opening up of registrations! More than 500 community organizations across the entire spectrum of language, culture, region, faith, professions are coming together to make this event happen.

Besides I am particularly excited because of the impact he has in galvanizing any community he addresses to come forward in full support for his initiatives. One particular initiative he will be promoting is the Digital India movement to digitize India.

It will have several far reaching benefits for India and Silicon Valley. It will focus the community’s attention on India and the great initiatives that are underway. It will inspire people to come and apply their innovative minds towards solving India’s challenges which provide a huge opportunity.

As a part of the events team, how are you preparing for the visit?
SB: Everyone is working hard to make this event a success. We are ensuring that everyone who attends including the dignitaries and community members have a great time. The ensuring every ‘I’ is dotted and ‘T’ is crossed right from the complete security & logistics of prime minister’s movements to working with the local government for proper crowd and traffic management , to the cultural programs to interfacing with government officials, to providing a smooth registration process for attendees to passes allocations to them etc.

Since Morarji Desai in 1978, Modi will be the first PM to visit the valley, how do you think the Diaspora will be impacted by his visit? What are some of the expectations from the thought leaders here?
SB: It will have a significant impact. As the event nears India is becoming a topic of discussion not only across the Indian American community but across all sections of stake holders in the innovation ecosystem of Bay area including the thought leaders and investors who are taking a closer look at India, a closer look at the current prime minister and his impressive body of work in the past one year as prime minister across the spectrum. The notable thing is that he is not only someone who initiates policies and programs but someone who actually successfully executes them and creates records while doing do.

The Bay area through leaders are feeling inspired by his commitment and are galvanizing efforts to apply their leadership towards solving the challenges that India faces both in terms of intellect and investments.

It’s a great win-win situation for India and for Silicon Valley to tap into the huge opportunities that India offers enabled by a government that’s working hard to make India a predictable and safe investment destination.
