CHICAGO: The three-day Navratri Garba program by Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago (BSCC) culminated on Oct 13 at Wyne Town Ship, West Chicago, IL.
Over 1500 community members and invited guest attended this event during three days. Dhirubhai Shuhagia and Bharatbhai Barot kicked off the event with lamp lighting ceremony and Bharat Oza with his orchestra group enthralled all those who participated in Dandiya and Garba
Bharat Oza had his beats in two taali (two claps) and tran taali (three claps) Garba performances. That was followed by the Raas-Garba. The event also included Sanedo, a style of Gujarati folk music.
Vandna Jhingan, a TV Asia correspondent was one of the honored guests. Dr. Pratima Shah gave prizes for best costume, best playing Garba beginning to end and best style. All the three days participants had good feast of BSCC food like fafda, jalebi, curry, bananas, farali and chevda.
The event ended with arati and mahaprashad. President of BSCC Haribhai Patel, Founder Manshukhbhai Patel, Chairperson Nalinkant Shukla thanked all the team members of Bhartiya Senior Citizen of Chicago and all participants who took part in Navratri Garba.
