NORWOOD, Massachusetts: Shree Hanuman Janma Utsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm and utmost religious fervor at the Shree Hari Dham Temple in Norwood, Massachusetts, April 20.
The temple deities were decorated with flowers and special garlands and the arrangement of colorful lightings at the shrine added a special festive effect to the hall. The program started with Shree Hanuman Arati by chanting of Vedic Hymns by temple priests, Pandit Vyas and Pandit Jayanarayan along with the devotees.
This was followed by the chanting of Shree Hanuman Sahashranamam in chorus to seek his blessings for a trouble-free life. Lord Hanuman was envisioned and worshiped as a symbol of devotion, magical powers, strength and energy by the devotees. Shree Hanuman Chaisa was chanted by the temple priests along with all the devotees and children.
The Hanuman avatar is considered as the 11th Rudra avatar of the Lord Shiva. There are many names like Bajrangabali, Pavanasuta, Pavankumar, Mahavira, Balibima, Marutsuta, Anjanisut, Sankat Mochan, Anjaneya, Maruti and Rudra by which Lord Hanuman is popular among his devotees.
After Maha Mangal Arati, Maha Prasadam was distributed among the devotees.
