FREMONT, CA: SRK Universe in association with Bollywood Everything hosted a private screening of the Bollywood blockbuster movie “Raees” on Jan 25 at Cine Grand, Fremont.
The private screening was attended by media and community leaders. The film which has been receiving positive reviews since its release has been going strong at the box office. In fact after opening on a high note, Raees managed to entice the audience and remained as their preferred choice over the weekend.
The movie is a fictitious story of a man named Raees, set in early 1980’s in Gujarat, India. The film explores how Raees’ relationships and meteoric rise helped him build an entire empire from scratch, to make him the single most powerful man in the state. The film’s director Rahul Dholakia says the source of inspiration was the Sholay album.
With Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan as ‘Raees,’ a villain but still a do-gooder, the film has turned a money churner at the box office and has raked in over Rs 93 crore in 5 days of worldwide release. Rahul Dholakia’s gangster drama was released on 2700 screens.
Raees is also getting appreciation for enthralling performances by Shahrukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Atul Agnihotri and Mahira Khan. The film is co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment.
