FREMONT: The City of Fremont will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Fremont’s 63rd park, Dusterberry Neighborhood Park on July 7, 2023.

“Please join the City of Fremont as we celebrate the grand opening of Dusterberry Park which plays an important role in the well-being and interconnectivity of our community. This is an exciting moment for Fremont as we unveil the City’s newest park in the heart of Centerville,” stated Mayor Lily Mei.

“The new neighborhood park reflects the City Council’s priority to provide much-needed recreational space within a 10-minute walk of all Fremont neighborhoods thereby expanding access and inclusivity, as recently adopted in the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan. This opening reaffirms my longstanding commitment and mayor pledge to the national 10-Minute Walk Program, which creates and designed parks to drive equitable, healthy, and thriving communities.”

The Dusterberry Neighborhood Park will officially be open to the public July 7, 2023. The new 4-acre park is located on the corner of Dusterberry Way and Peralta Boulevard and will serve as outdoor health and wellness space for the community.

“Dusterberry Neighborhood Park is a remarkable park that provides opportunities for residents to engage in physical activity, enjoy recreation play, and connect with the community. I am thrilled to witness the positive impact this park will have on our community’s well-being,” said City Manager Karena Shackelford
