FREMONT, CA: Ro Khanna continues to make strides in his campaign for US Congress election in 2014. One of his core strengths has been to mobilize grassroot support among local community. His campaign has successfully raised campaign funds by conducting meet and greet events in Bay Area.
Inder and Val Dosanjh hosted a community meet and greet at their spacious home in Lafayette, CA on Sunday, June 30.
Attending the event were community leaders such as Joe Johal, Community Activist and Sikh American Community Leader Bob Dhillon, Anil Yadav, FIA Chairman Dr Romesh Japra, Yogi Chugh, Vijay Thapar, Mahesh Pakala, Fremont City Council member Raj Salwan. Also present were prominent Sikh American community leaders from San Jose and Bay Area committing their support to Ro Khanna.
Attendees were impressed with Ro Khanna and his commitment to public service. Many also felt that he represented the best shot for the community to get a political voice and also felt that he is the best person for CA Congressional District 17th which included parts of Fremont, Newark, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale and parts of San Jose.
Attendees were heard saying that he was a very impressive candidate with impeccable credentials. Having served in the Obama Administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce many felt that he understood manufacturing, job creation and the interest of both small, medium and large businesses.
Attendees were pleased to see that Ro supported comprehensive immigration reform. He reiterated his support to the Sikh American community and issues of importance to them. Many admired his support of Civil liberties and justice.
Ro Khanna was recognized and given an award in 2008 by Washington, DC based Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE) for his role in supporting Sikh issues.
Ro Khanna for Congress has been receiving wide support from the Indian American community and many other communities. His message of job creation and a strong middle class is resonating with the community. Ro Khanna’s candidacy has been gaining momentum and he has received tremendous coverage in local and national media where many are saying that CA 17 Congressional race has become a very competitive race.
Ro Khanna’s grassroots mobilization has been unprecedented and is receiving wide support from all key constituents in Silicon Valley.
