Sachin fever touches British and Indian PMsNEW DELHI: The countrywide euphoria over Sachin Tendulkar, who is playing his farewell test, did not leave untouched even the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his British counterpart David Cameron here today.

The subject of Tendulkar and his retirement from international cricket came up during the meeting between the two leaders here with both paying tributes to the cricket icon.

The discussion took place on a day when Tendulkar was playing his last test match in Mumbai.

Cameron, who raised the topic, said he possesses a bat signed by Tendulkar, sources said.

He described it as a “treasured possession”, they said.

Singh mentioned to Cameron that Tendulkar is a member of the Upper House of Indian Parliament and his colleagues there may now like to see him more there, the sources added.

Cameron had arrived here on his way to Colombo to attend Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.–PTI
