CHICAGO: Schaumburg Township is expanding the services offered relating to processing United States passports, says Nimish Jani Trustee Schaumburg Township

In addition to being a processing center for new passport applications people will now be able to have passport photos taken on site instead of having to bring photos with them. When applying for a new passport or renewing an expiring passport, it is required to submit current photos that meet strict guidelines issued by the US Department of State. The cost for two photos is $10.00 and it can be taken at the same time an application is being processed.

The township is now accepting renewal applications for passports.

Renewal applications are provided and applicants may have the Clerk’s office answer questions, assist in filling out the forms, and handle the shipping. One may also bring pre-filled out forms for review and shipping.

The cost for handling the renewal is $10 per household, with no maximum number of applications allowed for each address. The $10 includes the costs of mailing the documents via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and a handling fee.

Passport services are available at the offices of Schaumburg Township, 1 Illinois Boulevard, Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169 Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm. No appointments are necessary.
