CHICAGO: The Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago celebrated Valentine’s Day, Birthday and Wedding Anniversary on February 20 with more than 250 members participating.

The program began with Ganesh Vandana, a welcome to new members and a brief on last year’s activities. BSC Secretary Rakshikaben Anjaria handled this task gracefully. This was followed with Rajendrabhai Anjaria and Gopal Shah explaining the significance of celebrating Valentine Day.

The highlight of the event was the screening of a Gujarati movie “Last Day” (Chhelo Divas) that underlined the importance of family and family values. The theme was that if you don’t take care of you family when your kids are young, they can go astray and spoil their lives. Adults can learn how to control their family.

After that the seniors presented flowers to their Valentine and also offered birthday greetings to those who had their birthday and wedding anniversary. At the end of the program everyone was treated to a delicious dinner. To make this event successful, the BSC committee members had worked very hard.
