Sound and light shows at Red Fort on You Tube

Red Fort on webNEW DELHI: The light and sound shows at Red Fort and Purana Qila are now just a click away with the tourism ministry making the events available for free viewing on social networking site You Tube.

The entire 58-minute sound and light show at Red Fort and 54-minute show at Purana Qila are now available for free viewing on You Tube, a senior Tourism Ministry official said here.

With the objective to showcase the heritage sites, Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi has directed that the audio tracks of all 23 sound and light shows should be uploaded on the Internet for free viewing throughout the world, he said.

Accordingly, two sound and light shows, both being operated directly by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) are being uploaded, the official said, adding that the rest will be uploaded phase-wise.

Conceptualized in 1968, the sound and light show at Red Fort was written by legendary writers Ali Sardar Jafri, Kaifi Azmi and Khushwant Singh and directed by renowned film director Chetan Anand.

Its Hindi version has the voices of cinestars Meena Kumari and Amrish Puri. The English version has the voices of Kabir Bedi and Pratap Sharma.
The sound and light show at Purana Quila, which went live in December 2010, has the voices of Naseeruddin Shah, Mukesh Khanna (Hindi) and Himanshu Sabharwal (English) and the show is visualized, scripted and narrated by Himanshu Sabharwal.
