St Louis raises $42,000 for Nepal victims

ST LOUIS: A fundraising dinner for Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief was held at Mahatma Gandhi Center on Friday May 15.

The St Louis Hindu Temple organized this historic event with support of Mahatma Gandhi Center, India Association of St .Louis, Gujarati Same St. Louis, Telugu Association, Bal Vihar, Ohmkaram, NATS & other organizations.

The event started with welcome address by Dr G.V. Naidu, Hindu Temple chairman, followed by speech from Nepali Association leader Balram Panthi and representatives from various associations.

Over 200 members attended the fundraising dinner which raised $42,000 for the Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund. It will be sending through Shri Ramakrishna Mission & Himalayan Family Health care project.

“A very enjoyable night and a fantastic outcome which will help the Nepalese get back on their feet,” said a coordinator of the event congratulating all associations which participated in this event. Prasad Swarna, an executive member of the Temple Board proposed the vote of thanks.
