CHICAGO: Terry D’Souza has been elected by the Cabinet as its II Vice District Governor District 1-A, Mother District of Lionism for the year 2012-2013. The election was during the second Cabinet Meeting of District 1- held at the Scottish Home, North Riverside, recently.
Past District Governor Mike Smigielski made her nomination speech and Region Chairperson Brenda Guttierrez made seconding speech. This is the first time that an Indian born woman has become Vice District Governor in District 1-A. After the election, newly elected second vice district governor Terry thanked all the members. Terry’s husband Austin was a Past District Governor and Current Governor of District 1-A. He and Terry are creating a new record in the history in Lionism of Chicagoland.
Terry has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and is retired after working for 31 years as Administrator for Cook County Hospital mainly in the Departments of Psychiatry, Adult Emergency Room, Internal Medicine and Family Practice. Terry is married to Past District Governor Austin D’Souza for 32 years.
