FREMONT: Unity Dinner organized by Jeevan Zutshi, Founder of IACF, for past twelve years has been an annual gala, bringing leaders from different walks of community together to celebrate cultural diversity and promote community development.
This year, the event was held a Hilton, Fremont. It focused on highlighting the valor, sacrifices and efforts of ‘Gadar movement’. Gadar movement started in 1913 when a few young Indian-origin people decided to do something about India’s freedom. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Gadar Movement. IACF-USA affiliate GOPIO (International) worked with Government of India in getting Gadar heroes the recognition for their part in India’s freedom movement.
The event started with a seminar to highlight Gadar Movement contribution to India’s freedom. The seminar was well attended by local dignitaries and people who were part of Gadar movement. Jeevan Zutshi said that the seminar and main event will go a long way in creating awareness among local community to the sacrifices made by Gadar heroes.
