CHICAGO: Uttarakhand Samaj of Greater Chicago celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights at the Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove recently with great pomp and show.
Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi attended the celebration and congratulated the USOGC community for organizing a successful event. President Smita Pant along with Vice President Vikram Singh Negi, Treasurer Rashmi Joshi and Secretary Mohan Rawat thanked the guests and started the evening with lamp lighting with sponsors.
The highlight of the event was the grand entry made by Lord Ram and Devi Sita, followed by a welcome dance performance. Beautiful ladies of USOGC, in traditional Uttarakhandi attire, were seen showcasing the culture of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The guests enjoyed the cuisine and the open dance floor with great joy.
USOGC ended the year with yet another spectacular event and promises to promote its culture in Chicagoland, for years to come.
