Saahas for Cause and Pico Care Pharmacy collaborated with ABCUSD to hold vaccination camps at high school campuses in the community.
The first camp at the Cerritos High campus on June 2 saw 183 vaccinations completed followed by a second camp at Artesia High on June 12 where 164 were vaccinated. The school principals, vice principals and staff were very supportive in graciously opening up the school campus after-hours for these camps. Saahas Youth volunteers helped at the registration and navigation stations, while the Saahas team managed the post vaccination waiting area and provided information on CDC post-vaccination guidelines and testing.
This effort would not have been possible without the support of LA County Department of Health Services and LA County Department of Public Health and, of course, the active participation of ABCUSD. This collaboration goes a long way in making the community a safer and healthier place for adults and youth alike.
