CERRITOS, Calif.: The Vidya Bharati Foundation of America (VBFA) proudly hosted its 2026 Los Angeles Gala at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel on July 26, welcoming more than 300 guests from across Southern California. The sold-out evening was dedicated to supporting value-based education for underprivileged children in India.
The Gala brought together community leaders, philanthropists, educators, business professionals, and supporters who share a common vision of empowering future generations through education. The evening featured inspiring speeches, cultural presentations, musical performances, and a successful fundraising campaign benefiting Vidya Bharati’s extensive network of schools across India.
The program was emceed by renowned comedian and television personality Rajiv Satyal. Distinguished guests included Shri Rajendra Prasad Khaitan Ji, National Vice President of Vidya Bharati, India; Swami Ishwarananda Ji; and Prachi Tehlan, renowned actress from the popular Hindi television series Diya Aur Baati Hum.
Vidya Bharati Foundation of America board members Shri Ashok Danda Ji, President Dr. Surendra Garg Ji, and Treasurer Dr. Yashpal Arya Ji also attended the Gala.
The program began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance and formally inaugurating the Gala.
This was followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana performed by seven-year-old Riju Jain, whose devotional presentation created a spiritual and uplifting atmosphere.
Guests then stood for the national anthems of the United States and India, beautifully sung by Krishna Parekh. The inspiring performance was warmly received by the audience.
Anil Parekh, National Secretary of the Vidya Bharati Foundation of America and Gala Chair, delivered the welcome and opening remarks. He warmly welcomed all guests, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters while highlighting the Foundation’s mission of advancing value-based education for children throughout India.
“Education is the greatest investment we can make in the future of society. We are deeply grateful to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, and guest whose generosity will help educate thousands of children and strengthen communities across India,” said the Gala Chair.
The Foundation’s President thanked supporters for their continued commitment to the organization’s mission and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural values while providing children with a high-quality education.
Guests enjoyed presentations showcasing Vidya Bharati’s mission and the transformative impact of its schools, which provide quality education rooted in Indian culture, values, academic excellence, and character development.
The Foundation recognized its generous sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners whose dedication made the event a tremendous success. Special appreciation was extended to the organizing committee, youth volunteers, media partners, performers, and the many individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to Jagrutiben and Rajubhai Patel, Vasant Rathi Ji, Ravi Tilak Ji, Rani Kumra Ji, and many other generous donors whose significant contributions and unwavering support played a vital role in advancing Vidya Bharati’s mission.
The evening also featured outstanding musical performances by Preetysha and Sameer. Their soulful voices captivated the audience and made the celebration especially memorable.
Vidya Bharati is one of India’s largest educational organizations, operating thousands of schools and serving millions of students through a holistic approach that combines academic excellence, cultural values, and character development.
The Los Angeles Gala demonstrated the Indian American community’s strong commitment to expanding educational opportunities for children through philanthropy and service. The event raised an estimated $1.3 million to support Vidya Bharati’s educational initiatives across India.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Gala Chair Anil Parekh, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the guests, sponsors, donors, volunteers, performers, media partners, and organizing committee members for making the sold-out Gala a remarkable success.
