The talented British-Asian actress Feryna Wazheir who stole audiences hearts in Raj Kanwar’s ‘Sadiyaan’ is all set to return to the silver screen with news of a two-movie deal with the youth-focused cutting edge studio iRock films.
Siddhartha M Jain, CEO of iRock stated, “Feryna has been cast in two iRock films and we will pitch her in fun, youth-centric and high concept edgy films, details for which we will be announcing soon.”
Siddhartha’s studio which has built its reputation on creating genre-specific, high concept films like ‘Ragini MMS’ and the soon to be released ‘Disco Valley’ is determined to forge ahead with a new style of movies aimed directly at the youth market, which now represents India’s largest movie going audience. Ms Wazheir, who has been described by the late great Yash Chopra as “beauty, innocence and vulnerability” is now ready to embrace a new, more dynamic and daring image to fit in with the urban style of iRock’s portfolio.
Trained and worked under theatre stalwarts Alque Padamsee and Satyadev Dubey, as well as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (also known as RADA) in London, Feryna also acted in Ketan Mehta’s yet to be released Rang Rasiya, which won the audience award at London Indian Film Festival in 2011.
