While on the tour to South Africa Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli
went out with his teammates for lunch in Cape Town. While they were having lunch, one of the waiters shook hands with him and told him how much he appreciated his game.
The Delhi batsman obliged before another waiter approached him with his arm out. Kohli reached to shake his hand but the waiter picked up a dirty plate instead, which is why he had his arm out in the first place.
Kohli was left embarrassed after the incident while his teammates had a good laugh at his expense. “These guys went mad. I felt so embarrassed. He didn’t even look at my hand!” Kohli shared the incident in an interview with ESPN.
During the interview he also revealed how he met three Indians in Finland on his honeymoon with wife Anushka Sharma and that he had to request the three men not to share any pictures of the couple on social media.
“We bumped into three Indians at a coffee shop. What are the odds?” Kohli said.
In order to continue enjoying their holiday, the couple requested them not to share the pictures on social media, and they obliged.
