NEW ORLEANS, LA: In a major move to bolster civic engagement within the Hindu American community, Americans4Hindus (A4H) officially launched four new state chapters during a high-profile gathering in New Orleans on March 28, 2026. The expansion introduces formal leadership in Louisiana, Missouri, Alabama, and Arkansas, bringing the organization’s total presence to 33 states.
The announcement coincided with the Annual American College of Cardiology Convention and followed a meeting of the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin (AACIO). This strategic alignment highlights a growing trend of Hindu American professionals, particularly in the medical field, transitioning their expertise into public policy and governance.
New Leadership Inducted
The formal induction ceremony, led by Dr. Rakesh Sharma, President of A4H (Florida) and AACIO, introduced the following leaders:
Louisiana: Dr. Surendra Purohit (President) and Dr. Kiran Zaveri (Vice President).
Missouri: Drs. Hanumanth and Geetha Reddy (Chairpersons) and Dr. Raghuveer Kura (President).
Alabama: Mr. Subir Paul (President) and Dr. Navin Nanda (Honorary Chairman).
Arkansas: Dr. Srini Vengala (President) and Ms. Sapna Singh Vengala (Vice President).
A Call to Political Action
Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and Chairman of Americans4Hindus, delivered a keynote address emphasizing that professional excellence must be matched by political representation. “While we continue to contribute immensely through our knowledge and skills, it is equally important that our voices are represented in governance,” Dr. Japra stated.
The event also highlighted the success of next-generation leaders. Dr. Hanumanth Reddy shared the journey of her daughter, Ms. Sarita Komatireddy, who is running for Attorney General of New York in the November 2026 elections. Ms. Komatireddy recently secured a landslide victory in the Republican primary with 86% of the vote.
Looking Toward November
With the 2026 elections approaching, A4H has set an ambitious goal to establish chapters in all 50 states. The organization remains focused on its mission of “Empowering Democracy with Hindu Values” by mobilizing the community toward active leadership and representation across the United States.
