Ayaan Garg is a Life Scout from Troop 111 who took the lead in the Eagle Scout project, Ayaan came up with the idea to help the Vedic Dharma Samaj Fremont Hindu Temple by building a protective fence around their sacred fig tree, which had been facing vandalism. Ayaan led the construction of the entire project, guiding approximately six fellow scouts as they worked together over the course of two days to complete the fence.
The project involved digging holes for seven fence posts, pouring concrete to secure them, and assembling wood planks to build a sturdy 10-foot by 6-foot fence. Overall, the work took about seven hours, and it was a rewarding experience in leadership, teamwork, and hands-on construction.
Ayaan and his team hope that other Life Scouts across the Bay Area can find similar opportunities to serve their communities, protect important spaces, and make a positive impact on society.
