INDORE: Union Ministry of Tourism has taken up a plan to explore and develop a tourist circuit on Delhi-Agra-Madhya Pradesh route covering important destinations in the state.
Foreign tourists visiting Taj Mahal in Agra via Delhi would be attracted to Madhya Pradesh’s historical cities of Gwalior, Orcha, Khajuraho, Sanchi and Bhopal for which a plan is in the offing, R K Mishra, Assistant Director of India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, told PTI here.
A marketing plan in the form of a book and publicity material were being prepared which would be launched soon, Mishra said.
A seven-day plan would be prepared for an initial offer and private tour operators would be promoted to take up the task, he said.
Madhya Pradesh would have to develop infrastructure and the Union Ministry of Tourism could provide funds for tourism promotion, he added. -PTI
